Job Summary
Administer therapeutic exercises and activities to improve patients' strength, mobility, and function while assisting the physical therapist in treatment implementation. Provide one-on-one training to individuals and document rehabilitation results, then maintain accurate patient records and report status changes to the multi-disciplinary team. Support the individual's plan of treatment through regular documentation and reporting. This full-time role offers flexible hours with clinical autonomy in a supportive environment. Candidates must possess a degree from an accredited training program, current certification, and CPR skills, with a preference for one year of experience.
Required Qualifications
- Degree from an accredited physical therapy assistant training program
- Current Physical Therapist Assistant certification in state of practice
- Current Live CPR Certification
- Two-step TB skin test required
- Proof of Auto Insurance
- Knowledge of evidence based therapy interventions
- Familiarity with assisted living, independent living, geriatrics and/or home health
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Moving, lifting, or transferring of patients which may involve lifting of up to 100 pounds following safety procedures
- Duties require fine motor skills, visual acuity, and walking/ standing for extended periods
- Additional physical requirements include: pushing/pulling, bending/stooping, reaching, kneeling, and positioning frequently at times
- A health screen or examination may be required prior to assignment and periodically thereafter, depending on specific location policy, local and state regulations to verify employee is physically capable of performing assigned duties with or without reasonable accommodations
