Job Summary
The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) provides physical therapy services under the direction of a physical therapist and according to the physician's plan of care. This role involves treating patients to relieve pain, developing or restoring function, and aiding in rehabilitation through therapeutic exercises and various physical agents. The PTA is responsible for maintaining clinical records, reporting patient reactions to treatment, and instructing patients in the care of assistive devices. Candidates must have an associate's degree from an accredited program and must be licensed by the Physical Therapy Board of California.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy assistant program with either an associate’s degree in science or applied science that is approved by American Physical Therapy Association, Inc.
- Approved as a physical therapist assistant by the Physical Therapy Board of California
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrates good verbal and written communication and organization skills
- Possess and maintain current CPR certification
- Licensed driver with automobile that is in good working order and insured
- Must possess a valid California Driver’s License and Automobile Insurance coverage at all times
- Must have a reliable form of transportation
