Job Summary
Assist in administering physical therapy programs involving manual therapeutic exercises, massage, traction, and various modalities such as ultrasound, electrical stimulation, and heat/cold packs. Instruct and motivate patients to learn skills while observing treatments to compile data on progress and report findings to the rehab director. Evaluate daily living skills, design adaptive equipment, and document patient progress toward established goals. Maintain billing records, follow infection control and safety protocols, and ensure proper use of supplies without waste. Participate in staff meetings, educational seminars, and miscellaneous assignments as required.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of accredited two-year Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Certified according to national requirements
- Licensed in the state where practicing
- Ability to lift 50 pounds with frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighting up to 25 pounds
- Ability to work inside with exposure to some disagreeable conditions
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients/residents, therapy staff and facility personnel
- Capability to execute all terms and conditions set forth in the Employee Handbook
- Ability to work in a safety conscious manner
- Ability to comply with local, state, and federal regulations
- Ability to adhere to the Company policy of a drug free workplace
- Ability to interact in a tactful, diplomatic and humanistic manner with residents, families, visitors, and co-workers
- Ability to maintain a dependable attendance record
- Ability to adhere to standards of cleanliness, grooming, hygiene, and dress code
