Job Summary
Actively participates in patient care under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, follows the Plan of Care, and contributes to delivering personalized PT services in an outpatient clinic. Responsibilities include performing and teaching therapeutic exercises, assisting with recovery, documenting daily notes in the EMR, ensuring patient safety and confidentiality, educating patients on exercises and equipment, and maintaining a clean, compliant clinical environment. The role emphasizes collaboration with PTs, mentors, and staff to support patient outcomes, includes opportunities for growth and leadership development, and supports continued learning and NPTE preparation within a supportive team culture.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed PTA in the State of New York
- Hands-on experience with therapeutic exercises, functional training and physical modalities
- Ability to communicate and instruct effectively
- PTA certification or license
- Ability to delegate appropriate support care to non-licensed staff and serve as a resource in their training
