Job Summary
Deliver physical therapy care to assigned patient populations and record all interventions in the hospital medical record. Act as a consultant to OT/PT support staff, students, and patient families while rotating through various clinical service areas under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist. Implement patient plans of care, manage discharge planning, order equipment, and represent the department at rounds and discharge conferences. Schedule and charge patients, potentially supervising Rehab Technicians, students, and volunteers. Work a fluctuating schedule from 8 AM to 7 PM, including weekend and holiday rotations, while lifting 50-100 lbs and adapting to a fast-paced, noisy environment.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed (or licensure eligible) by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Physical Therapist Assistant
- Current license by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Physical Therapist Assistant
- New graduate from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program
- Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program (Associates Degree)
- Current CPR Certification if required by clinic or practice area
- Experience REQUIRED: One (1) year of work experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant
- Employee is expected to share in weekend and holiday schedule expectations of the department
- Employee is expected to have a fluctuation of daily work hours from 8 AM to 7 PM based on patient population/clinic needs
