Job Summary
PTA works under a licensed physical therapist to evaluate patients and implement rehabilitative treatment plans. Travel to patient homes is required in this field-based role. Responsibilities include conducting evaluations of muscle strength, range of motion, gait, and activities of daily living; administering therapeutic exercises and modalities; coordinating with therapists, nurses, and social workers; educating patients and families; maintaining clinical records and submitting documentation within 48 hours; ensuring HIPAA and infection-control compliance; and pursuing professional development at least twice annually. Requires an Associate degree, NM PTA license, CPR certification, and a minimum of 1 year of clinical experience.
Required Qualifications
- Associate degree from an APTA-accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program
- Licensed PTA in New Mexico per state board requirements
- Minimum 1 year of clinical physical therapy experience (home health preferred)
- CPR certification (current) required
