Job Summary
Provide direct physical therapy services under the direction of a physical therapist and in accordance with the physician's plan of care. Treat patients to relieve pain, develop or restore function, and maintain maximum performance by directing active and passive therapeutic exercises, muscle reeducation, gait training, and prosthetic training. Utilize physical agents such as heat, cold, ultrasound, and massage while observing and reporting patient reactions to the care team. Instruct patients on the use of wheelchairs, braces, crutches, and orthotic devices, and maintain accurate clinical records. Participate in home care team meetings and in-service education programs. Requires a valid driver's license and current CPR certification.
Required Qualifications
- Licensed where the HHA is located if licensure is required
- Graduated from a PT assistant program approved by CAPTE
- Passed a national examination for PT assistants
- Current CPR certification
- Valid driver's license
- Automobile insurance coverage
- Access to an automobile
