Physical Therapist Assistant

Job Summary

Carry out treatment plans established by physical therapists to progress patients toward functional goals in an outpatient orthopedic clinical setting. Provide exceptional care while maintaining active state licensure through continuing education and earning quarterly performance bonuses. Document patient status per compliance guidelines, including daily notes, progress notes, and discharges, while communicating periodically with supervising PTs regarding assessment, progression, and discharge. Supervise rehabilitation technicians and administrative staff as needed, ensuring ethical billing practices and adherence to daily paperwork requirements. Facilitate relationships with physicians, case managers, and the broader medical team to support patient outcomes.

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant Program
  • Holds current license to practice in Illinois
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally
  • Current CPR certification
  • Ability to lift greater than 25 pounds
  • Demonstrates good understanding of proper body mechanics for lifting, pulling, pushing
  • Ability to stand and sit for sequences of time greater than 30 minutes
  • Ability to work on a computer for lengthy times during the day
