Job Summary
Provides physical therapy treatments under the supervision of licensed physical therapists, including modalities, manual techniques and common exercise techniques. Instructs and guides patients through functional activities such as bed mobility, transfers, gait and balance activities. Works under minimal supervision and may mentor and train staff on technical skills. Requires PTA licensure, CPR/BLS certification, and a valid driver's license; adheres to vaccination requirements as a condition of employment. Documents interventions and education for patients in acute care and outpatient settings; collaborates with nurses and physical therapists to monitor patient responses.
Required Qualifications
- High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required
- Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
- Two years' technical experience: Preferred
- Licenses/Certifications: Physical Therapy Assistant licensure in all applicable states of practice: Required
- CPR or BLS certification: Required
- Valid Driver's License (DL) and must be at least 21 years of age or older: Required
