Job Summary
Perform physical therapy treatments under licensed physical therapist supervision, utilizing modalities, manual techniques, and exercise protocols. Guide patients through functional activities including bed mobility, transfers, gait, and balance exercises. Observe patient responses to treatment precautions and report changes to supervising staff. Provide daily chart documentation of interventions and services for acute, outpatient, and home health settings. Educate patients and caregivers on treatment plans while assessing their understanding. Maintain a valid driver's license and hold PTA licensure in the state of practice.
Required Qualifications
- High School Education/GED or equivalent
- Physical Therapy Assistant licensure in all applicable states of practice
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy
- Valid Driver's License (DL)
- Must be at least 21 years of age or older
- Receive all required vaccinations as a condition of employment and annually thereafter, where applicable
Desired Qualifications
- Associate's/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience
- Two years' technical experience
- Experience in therapy in an acute care environment, acute therapy unit and/or out patient setting
