Job Summary
Deliver and monitor patient rehabilitation under the guidance of a physical therapist, instructing patients through targeted exercise programs and administering specialized therapeutic modalities like ultrasound and electrical stimulation. Prioritize patient safety and comfort while maintaining meticulous, compliant clinical documentation and managing equipment upkeep. Educate patients and their families on home care and recovery strategies, collaborating closely with physical therapists to evaluate progress and drive optimal recovery outcomes. This role serves as a vital bridge in the healthcare team within our Tampa office, supporting our mission of changing lives locally and saving lives globally.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of physical therapy techniques and procedures
- Excellent communication skills to work with patients and healthcare teams
- Strong understanding of human anatomy and physical therapy principles
- Ability to assess patient conditions and modify treatments based on feedback from the physical therapist
- Patience and empathy when dealing with patients
- Associate's degree in Physical Therapy Assisting from an accredited program
- Licensed or certified as a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) in the state of Florida
Desired Qualifications
- Prior experience in personal injury
- Knowledge/experience treating patients with TBIs
