Physical Therapist - Acute

Job Summary
Evaluate patients and provide inpatient physical therapy treatment programs based on physician orders. Collaborate with the healthcare team to facilitate patient transitions to post-acute or home care to achieve specific goals. Assess patient response to treatment and recommend plan changes to improve outcomes and maintain safety. Maintain patient records per documentation standards and ensure protocols meet hospital quality and safety targets. Adapt communication styles and behaviors to diverse patient populations while respecting privacy. Perform other assigned duties including compliance with federal, state, and local laws and accreditation standards.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in physical therapy
- Current physical therapy license in state of practice OR eligibility for licensure by examination OR reciprocity from another state
- Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
- Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based applications
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
- Excellent judgment and decision-making skills and ability to deal with a variety of patients and diagnoses
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel throughout and between facilities
- Very Heavy Work - Exerting in excess of 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or in excess of 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or in excess of 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects
- Exposure to blood, body fluid and tissue
- Exposure to all communicable diseases
- Exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste
