Physical Security Systems Technician - Critical Environments

Job Summary
On-site field technician responsible for day-to-day maintenance of physical security systems at the Barber Lake Data Center. Performs preventive and corrective maintenance on access control, video surveillance, and related hardware; supports installs, MACs, commissioning, and acceptance testing; terminates and tests low-voltage cabling; executes Genetec Security Center tasks; handles tickets from security operations with clear root-cause notes and closeout documentation; collaborates with Site Operations on shared infrastructure and trades; must be able to work outside normal hours and travelto cross-site locations as needed. This role requires working knowledge of IP cameras, readers, locks, RS-485, Cat6/6A, fiber, and network fundamentals, and a willingness to learn from and contribute to a cross-disciplinary team.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 3+ years of hands-on field experience installing, maintaining, or servicing enterprise physical security systems
- 2+ years working directly with Access Control Systems (ACS) and Video Surveillance Systems (VSS)
- Experience with low-voltage cabling, termination, and testing (Cat6/6A, fiber, RS-485)
- Experience supporting commissioning, installs, or MAC work in occupied environments under change control
- Hands-on competence with IP cameras, controllers, readers, locks, REX devices, intercoms, and supporting field hardware
- Working knowledge of networking fundamentals: IP addressing, VLANs, PoE, basic switching, and structured cabling standards
