Job Summary
Conduct regular security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities, developing and implementing security policies, procedures, and protocols for facility and employee safety. Ensure the safety of high-profile executives, board members, and key personnel by creating travel, event, and residence security plans. Oversee the installation, maintenance, and operation of surveillance cameras, access control systems, and alarm systems while coordinating with law enforcement during incidents. Train staff on emergency response protocols, investigate breaches, and prepare detailed incident reports. Perform regular equipment testing to ensure functionality and recommend improvements such as lighting and fencing. Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations. This onsite role at Hagerty's Traverse City headquarters may involve travel to support security needs across offices, data centers, and outdoor locations.
Required Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Physical Security Specialist or in a similar role
- Knowledge of security systems and procedures
- Experience in developing and implementing security policies
- Ability to respond effectively to emergency situations
- Must possess strong communication skills
- High School diploma required
- This role is onsite at Hagerty's Traverse City corporate headquarters
- This position may require occasional travel to support security needs and events
- Familiarity with public company requirements, including Sarbanes Oxley and key regulations, if applicable
- For SOX compliant roles, responsible for designing, executing, and documenting internal controls where they have been identified as owners to prevent errors in financial reporting, processes, and business operations
- Including attestation to the completeness, accuracy, and compliance of all financial reporting data, where applicable
Desired Qualifications
- Certification as a Physical Security Professional (PSP), or Certified Threat Assessor or similar is preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management or related field is a plus
