Physical Plant - Campus Planning and Design - Projects Manager

Job Summary

Manage campus renovation and construction projects from initial scope development through completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and aligned with quality standards. Coordinate with Physical Plant staff, contractors, and vendors to define scope, monitor schedules, and resolve issues while maintaining the Gordian database of assets. Serve as the primary point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates and evaluating cost-effective solutions for resource allocation. Conduct site visits to monitor progress and ensure projects meet design standards and functional requirements. This full-time, exempt role reports to the Director for Campus Planning and Design and requires moderate to heavy physical work, including climbing and lifting up to 50 pounds. Candidates must have a Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Facilities Management and three to five years of project management experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Facilities Management, Architecture, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of certifications and experience
  • Three to five years of project management experience, preferably in construction, facilities management, or higher education
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated experience working with contractors, project scheduling, and construction coordination
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints
  • Valid Ohio driver's license
  • Be in agreement with the Community Covenant and General Workplace Standards of Cedarville University
  • Ability to apply a variety of established procedures and practices while analyzing information and solving problems
  • Ability to perform moderate to heavy physical work, including stooping, bending, climbing, pushing, pulling, and extensive walking, including stairs, ladders, basements, and rooftops
  • Ability to occasionally lift or carry objects up to 50 pounds and regularly lift or carry objects up to 35 pounds
  • Ability to perform tasks requiring climbing, balancing, lifting, reaching, crouching, kneeling, grasping, repetitive motion, pushing, pulling, talking, and hearing
  • Frequent exposure to extreme temperatures, noise, air pollution, chemical substances, and hazardous conditions
  • Occasional outdoor work, including snow removal and work in freezing temperatures
