Job Summary
Physical/Occupational Therapist and Ergonomist role at LLNL focusing on providing physical/occupational therapy for work-related injuries and performing moderately complex ergonomic assessments for office, home office, and non-office environments. Responsibilities include independent provision of rehabilitation services, ergonomic risk assessments, early intervention support, multidisciplinary case management participation, development and delivery of ergonomic trainings and educational materials, and collaboration with ES&H professionals and program managers. Hybrid work option available after a probationary period; requires U.S. DOE Q-level clearance and U.S. citizenship; CA-licensed PT/OT with a minimum of 5 years’ licensure and 2+ years of outpatient orthopedics experience; Master’s/Doctorate and advanced certifications are desirable.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in physical or occupational therapy
- Current license as a physical/occupational therapist in the State of California
- Minimum of 5 years licensed as a physical or occupational therapist
- Minimum of 2 years outpatient orthopedics experience in the treatment and management for acute and cumulative trauma disorders; and industrial post-op rehabilitation
- Experience with early intervention and occupational activity analysis relating to office, home office, and non-office tasks
- Experience with performing office, home office, and non-office ergonomic assessments
- Experience with developing training, procedures, or reports for a wider audience and speaking to small and large groups effectively
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to effectively collaborate in a team environment, present, and communicate technical information to all levels of personnel
- Ability to secure and maintain a U.S. DOE Q-level security clearance which requires U.S. citizenship
- Master’s or Doctorate degree in physical or occupational therapy (desirable)
- Experience with robotic wearables (e.g., Ottobock shoulder exoskeleton, Apex2 Exosuit) (desirable)
- Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) or BCPE credentials (desirable)
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office
