Job Summary
Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in the core academic subject area assigned to help them fulfill their potential for intellectual, emotional, physical, and social growth. Develop and implement lesson plans, plan instructional activities and assess student achievement; work with special education staff to modify curricula per IEP; manage classroom environment and behavior; sponsor extracurricular activities; and maintain professional relationships with parents, students, colleagues, and the community. Requires a Bachelor’s degree and valid Texas teaching certificate with endorsements or required training for the subject and grade level; responsibilities include instructional planning, assessment, classroom management, collaboration with staff, and compliance with district policies and state regulations. Prolonged standing and various physical demands are noted, with AED available and safety protocols in place.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or required training for subject and level assigned
- Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
- Student teaching, approved internship, or related work experience
