Job Summary
Develop and implement daily group and individualized lesson plans for assigned students using provided curriculum and supplemental materials. Collaborate with classroom teams to implement and monitor individualized student support plans while establishing a classroom and behavioral management system. Complete weekly lesson plans and grades, quarterly report cards, and designated assessment forms as required. Communicate with parents and home districts regarding student progress, meetings, and visits through various mediums. Receive supervision from a supervisor via phone, email, written messages, and in person regarding program matters. Transport students when needed while maintaining safe driving procedures and adhering to designated procedures for student illness, injury, and physical contact. Follow school-wide policies, procedures, and interventions, including threat assessment processes and critical incident documentation. Serve on program committees and attend local, state, or national conferences with approval from the Program Director. Obtain and maintain professional certification as required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Work independently without close supervision while following the classroom/school budget constraints.
Required Qualifications
- PA State Teacher Certification
- Bachelor's degree in physical education
- Valid state driver's license
- Safe driving record
- Current auto insurance
- State Police clearance
- FBI clearance
- Child Abuse clearance
- Mandated Reporter-Recognizing and Reporting Child Abuse training certificate and/or statement
- Ability to operate a keypad device 25% of the day
- Ability to use electronic/office equipment 25% of the day
- Minimum requirements for hearing, speech, and vision
- Ability to walk 50% of the day
- Ability to stand 50% of the day
- Ability to sit 50% of the day
- Ability to reach above the shoulder
- Ability to bend and twist
- Ability to routinely lift 15 pounds, 4 times per day
- Ability to lift a maximum of 50 pounds, 2 times per day
- Ability to transport clients 25% of overall time
- Ability to implement physical interventions
- Ability to meet the physical demands of TCI
- Flexibility to meet student needs
- Ability to work a 10-month/ school year schedule
