Job Summary
Implement IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious expectations; enhance students' disposition toward leading a physically active lifestyle; submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance; track student progress with formal/informal assessments and update gradebook; communicate fitness progress to students and families weekly; maintain a consistent behavior management system aligned with campus initiatives; foster a school-wide culture supporting student social-emotional learning in a physically active setting; participate in weekly PD and meetings; serve as a Healthy Kids Here campus representative; prepare for after-school tutoring or Saturday school as needed; minimum 40+ hours at school per week; secondary role as Campus Athletics Coordinator at principal’s discretion.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in physical education, kinesiology or physiology, physical therapy, or nutrition and health preferred
- Florida educator certification required or willingness to pursue
- Experience in classroom setting or with children in large group/team settings
- Ability to instruct and manage behavior in large groups indoors and outdoors
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to college-ready student outcomes
- Ability to develop and implement curricula and assessments
- Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance
- Engage in professional development and campus activities
