Job Summary
Physical Education & Health Teacher responsible for delivering engaging courses to students in grades 5-12, developing lesson plans promoting physical activity, health, and emotional well-being, and collaborating with clinical/behavioral/educational teams. Roles include monitoring student progress, providing tailored feedback, maintaining records, communicating with families, participating in staff meetings and school events, and performing daily duties such as bus/lunch hallway monitoring; subbing as needed. Requires Active PA Teaching Certification in Physical/Health Education and a Bachelor's degree, with experience teaching middle/high school students, knowledge of trauma-informed practices, and strong communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Active Pennsylvania Teaching School Certification in Physical/Health Education required
- Bachelor’s degree
- Prior experience teaching middle and high school students
- Strong knowledge of physical education curriculum, health topics, and emotional support strategies
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of trauma-informed teaching practices is a plus
