Job Summary
Plan and deliver differentiated Physical Education (K–12) and Health curriculum covering fitness, motor skills, sportsmanship, wellness, nutrition, and social-emotional learning. Modify activities, equipment, and materials to ensure physical and developmental accessibility for all students, including those with disabilities. Establish safe, orderly, and encouraging learning environments grounded in positive feedback, teamwork, and mutual respect. Partner closely with colleagues, coaches, therapists, and classroom teachers to support student success, while communicating program needs to the Division Head and administrative team. Confer with parents, guardians, and specialists to ensure physical fitness goals are being met.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education, Health, Kinesiology, or a related field
- 2–4 years of experience teaching Physical Education and/or Health
- Demonstrated experience adapting methods, equipment, and curriculum to meet diverse student needs
- Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary teaching team
- Proven knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design, teaching and instruction for individuals and groups, and the measurement of training effects
- Proven ability to adapt teaching methods, equipment, and instructional materials to meet students' varying needs and interests
- Ability to work cooperatively as a part of a teaching team
Desired Qualifications
- Master's degree in Physical Education, Adaptive Physical Education, Health Education, or Special Education
- Experience in an inclusive independent school or integrated setting
