Job Summary
Plan and conduct physical education activities for students with learning, behavioral, and emotional disabilities, evaluating progress against Individualized Education Programs. Create flexible learning environments using differentiated assessment strategies and implement Positive Behavioral Intervention and Support Plans to maintain a conducive classroom culture. Collaborate with administrators, social workers, and academic teachers to integrate course content, develop transition planning for students returning to public or workplace settings, and provide educational case management services. Use technology to support instruction and serve as an active member of interdisciplinary treatment teams. Monday-Friday 8:30am-12:00pm, 17.5 hours weekly, $27-$35 per hour. Requires Bachelor's degree in Education and CT certification.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Education
- Connecticut State Department of Education certification or willingness to pursue (#044)
