Job Summary
Develop and maintain physical composition flow utilizing Cadence tool sets, including Genus, Innovus, and Cerebrus. Closely work with physical designers to address diverse flow and design issues, while collaborating with tool vendors to resolve bugs and enhance capabilities. Apply strong understanding of RTL to GDS flows and TSMC advanced technology node rules to build state-of-the-art RDU chips for machine learning and AI. Fluency in Claude/AI tools for flow development is a plus. This role supports SambaNova's full-stack generative AI platform, from chip to model, enabling customers to fine-tune open-source models on-premises or in the cloud while retaining model ownership.
Required Qualifications
- BS, MS, or PhD degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering
- 5+ years of industry experience in physical design and flow development
- Strong understanding of rtl to gds flow and mythologies, including synthesis and place and route
- Proficiency in scripting languages, e.g. TCL, Perl and Python
Desired Qualifications
- Good understanding physical design rules especially for TSMC advanced technology nodes 3nm below
- Familiarity with Cadence physical design reference flow and mythologies
- Fluency in Claude / AI tools for flow development
