Job Summary
PHS- Volleyball Junior Varsity Coach develops practice and competition schedules for the volleyball program, monitors academic progress of student-athletes, and coordinates facilities and equipment. Responsible for skill development, sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline; supervises athletes during practices and competitions; maintains team roster and promotes school/community interest in the sport. Requires leadership to foster positive attitudes; communicates with parents and students; holds preseason/postseason parent meetings; ensures required physical examinations/forms are completed; maintains IHSAA-NFHS rule knowledge; CPR/First Aid certification; coaching certification preferred; criminal history and DCS clearances required. Salary is a stipend paid according to the season.
Required Qualifications
- Knowledge of volleyball rules
- Prior successful coaching experience preferred
- IHSAA and NFHS rules familiarity
- IHSAA/NFHS coaching certification preferred
- First Aid and CPR certified; knowledge of concussion protocol
- Ability to communicate with parents and students
- Ability to address situations with student-athletes and community
- Commitment to ethics and conduct; maintain coaching certifications
- Successfully complete criminal history and DCS clearances
