Job Summary
Implement and tweak backend features that power our global shopping community, crafting high-quality code for over 25 million monthly users. Build and maintain relational database systems using MySQL or PostgreSQL while leveraging frameworks like Laravel or Symfony. Write unit and integration tests with PHPUnit or Behat to ensure reliability, and utilize Docker for containerization within our agile team environment. Collaborate on complex, innovative features while contributing to continuous improvement of engineering practices. Required Qualifications
- At least 3 years of experience as a PHP developer
- Knowledge of relational databases (MySQL, Postgresql)
- Experience with PHP frameworks (Laravel, Yii, FuelPHP, Symfony, Zend)
- Knowledge of OO programming and design patterns
- Experience with unit testing and integration tests
- Self-motivation and a passion for learning new technologies
- Experience with SCM (git or svn)
- Fluent in English and you are already based in Canada
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Elasticsearch/Solr, MongoDB, CouchDB, Redis, or Memcache
- Experience with TDD (PHPUnit) or BDD (Behat or Codeception)
- Experience with Composer / Packagist
- Experience with continuous integration (with Jenkins, TravisCI, etc..)
- Experience with containerization and docker
