Job Summary
Develop, maintain, and optimise backend applications using PHP and Node.js while writing clean, efficient, and testable code. Analyse business requirements to enhance existing applications, troubleshoot defects through the tracking system, and create technical documentation including specifications and test plans. Monitor system performance, provide ongoing technical support, and research new technologies to improve scalability. Work within an n-tier architecture using Symfony, Doctrine, Vue.js, and relational or NoSQL databases. This role requires proficiency in PHP with commercial backend experience, strong OOP principles, and familiarity with RabbitMQ, Redis, and Git. The position supports continuous learning and keeps up to date with emerging technologies and relevant legislation.
Required Qualifications
- Proficiency in PHP with commercial backend development experience
- Experience developing applications within an n-tier architecture
- Strong understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles
- Experience with Symfony 4/5 and Doctrine ORM
- Working knowledge of Vue.js
- Experience with relational and NoSQL databases, including PostgreSQL, SQL and MongoDB
- Familiarity with messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ and Redis
- Experience using distributed version control systems, such as Git
- Good understanding of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, MIS or a related discipline, or equivalent commercial experience
