Job Summary
Tell compelling news stories as a Photojournalist for the TEGNA NBC station WGRZ-TV in Buffalo. Produce video and audio content for television, social media and mobile under daily deadline pressure; operate an ENG truck or IP video-based live unit when assigned; work solo or as part of a team for daily assignments; participate in editorial meetings and contribute story ideas; apply creative production techniques (including viewer-sourced content and webcam interviews) to enhance storytelling; demonstrate strong journalism and reporting skills, including proficiency with non-linear editing systems (EDIUS) and content management; maintain a current driver’s license and the ability to operate a news gathering vehicle; physically capable of lifting up to 40 lbs and occasionally more; adapt to live, breaking news situations and changing events.
Required Qualifications
- BA/BS in journalism, communications or related field preferred or equivalent years of experience
- 1-3 years of experience preferred in a newsroom environment
- Experience in photojournalism, editing, and content management systems
- Must be flexible with schedule
- Current driver’s license and ability to operate news gathering vehicle to and from various locations
