Job Summary
Shoot and edit television news footage with a team of journalists to produce original, unbiased content for newscasts, the Spectrum News app, and connected television. Capture footage at local events by connecting with neighbors while leveraging fresh angles, lighting, and points of view to elevate stories. Operate ENG/SNG/Satellite vehicles and bonded cellular streaming equipment to deliver timely, accurate coverage across multiple platforms. Work different shifts with flexibility for schedule changes and stand-by responsibilities, driving a company vehicle to various locations while maintaining safety and accuracy in both climate-controlled and extreme weather conditions.
Required Qualifications
- Shooting and editing television news footage - 5+ years
- Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field, or comparable television work experience
- Operation of ENG/SNG/Satellite vehicles and bonded cellular streaming
- Knowledge of how to clearly communicate solutions
- Ability to relate to populations and ages
- Positive attitude and eagerness to solve problems
- Lifting and carrying up to 100 pounds
- Ability to distinguish colors and discern sounds
- Must be open to travel to discover the important stories in your neighborhood and willing to interact with the community
- Ability to work different shifts, be flexible with schedule changes and able to cover stand-by responsibilities when assigned
- Valid driver's license for authorized driving in the state of residence
