Job Summary
WPIX is seeking a full-time Sports Photographer/Editor responsible for shooting video, sound, editing, and transmitting live content. This role includes video shooting for sports and news, setting up and executing broadcast quality video, and maintaining assigned equipment. Candidates must have excellent lighting, camera, production, and editing skills, with a strong work ethic and ability to work under tight deadlines. Applicants must have a high school diploma, a valid driver’s license, and 3 to 5 years of broadcast television experience, including proficiency with relevant video recording equipment.
Required Qualifications
- Must have at least 3 to 5 years of experience in broadcast television
- Minimum two years’ experience operating video recording equipment
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Fluency in English
- Good judgment skills are a must
- Comprehensive understanding of ethical and legal issues concerning daily newsgathering
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
Desired Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
- Proficiency with video recording equipment, including Sony cameras

- Must have a flexible schedule with ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays
