Job Summary
Shooting and editing VOs, VO-SOTs, and packages for broadcast air and online postings while working with the Assignment Desk and Reporters to cover daily stories. Execute creative live shots using assigned professional camera equipment, then edit in Adobe Premiere and use ENG, SNG, and wireless data to feed completed work to the station. Gather video and still pictures for digital platforms, coordinate incoming video elements from field crews, and produce content to online platforms. Maintain organization and attention to gear/equipment maintenance while ensuring the best content and facts are gathered with reporters and producers. Coordinate with the News Director to uphold journalistic standards and professional ethics in all assignments.
Required Qualifications
- Training in the art of video photojournalism
- Professional or college experience in a newsroom
- Ability to carry up to 50 pounds of equipment
- Experience with ENG trucks
- Ability to work in all weather conditions
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Ability to operate digital editing tools
- Computer and software experience; knowledge of Adobe Premiere, Precis, and CNN platforms
- Ability to organize and prioritize
- Unwavering journalistic integrity and ethical standards
- Ability to deal with the stresses and pressures of time-sensitive newscast production
