Job Summary
Communicate the St. Jude story through photography that meets creative, storytelling, and documentation needs for assigned fundraising and awareness initiatives. Serve as a lead photographer, curator, advisor, and visual storyteller while mentoring interns, contract photographers, and junior team members. Assist in developing process and technology strategies to deliver cost-efficient, effective imaging services. Maintain current knowledge of industry best practices and emerging trends while working independently with minimal supervision. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in Photography, Communications, or a related field with 8-10 years of experience. The position is based at ALSAC's National Executive Office in Memphis, TN on a hybrid schedule.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Photography, Communications, or a related field
- 8-10 years of relevant experience
- Expert-level proficiency in photography fundamentals, lighting, retouching, and related technologies
- Hands-on experience in photography, retouching, and editing
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, with internal and external audiences
- Thorough knowledge of English spelling, grammar, and usage
- Ability to understand complex verbal and written instructions
- Excellent photography skills, including image capture, editing, and retouching
- Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, Photo Mechanic, Microsoft Office applications, and other assigned software
- Skilled in presentation software, including Microsoft PowerPoint and Apple Keynote
- Competency in the Mac operating system
- Demonstrates professional, clear, and effective communication skills, both written and interpersonal
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to manage conflict in a calm and professional manner
- Highly organized and able to perform effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining composure
- Demonstrates a strong sense of urgency and accountability in response to assignments
- Ability to work extended and irregular hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while consistently meeting deadlines
- This position is based at ALSAC's National Executive Office in Memphis, TN and is eligible for a hybrid work schedule
