Job Summary
Shoot and edit daily news stories, breaking news, special reports, and stories as assigned, working with or without a reporter using non-linear editing equipment. Set up, test, and operate equipment for live and recorded broadcasts, including LiveU and mobile transmission technology, while troubleshooting technical issues in the field. Edit materials to match scripts, drive and handle all necessary equipment for live transmissions, and perform routine maintenance on vehicles and gear. Manage, organize, and archive digital media according to newsroom standards, upload content to the station's website and social media, and assist with the assignment desk. Work various shifts, including inclement weather, with a valid driver's license and clean record required for daily vehicle operation.
Required Qualifications
- College Degree or equivalent work experience in Broadcast Communications
- At least 2 years' experience in camera/editing
- Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills both written and oral
- Knowledge of editing software's such as Avid Media Composer

- Valid Driver's license with clean driving record
- Ability to lift heavy equipment up to 45 pounds
- Ability to bend and set-up equipment for remotes
- Ability to work outdoor and inclement weather conditions
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States
- Strong visual storytelling, composition, lighting, and audio skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound decisions in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills
- Familiarity with newsroom systems, digital platforms, and emerging technology
- Ability to adapt quickly to changing assignments, priorities, and breaking news situations
- Must be able to work various shifts and times as well as during inclement weather
