Job Summary
Operate television or video cameras to record images or scenes for news reports, covering general assignments in a fast-paced environment. Utilize electronic video cameras, cell phones, and editing equipment while operating live ENG remote gear. Respond quickly to breaking news and meet deadlines by prioritizing multiple tasks simultaneously. Work overtime, extra hours, and various shifts, including weekends, holidays, and irregular times, in all weather conditions. Maintain a clean motor vehicle record and drive to transport up to 50lbs of equipment. Cross-train in other news operations as needed. Required Qualifications
- Fluency in English
- High School diploma
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Minimum two years' experience operating video recording equipment
- Proficiency with computers, telephones, copiers, scanners, fax machines and other office equipment
- Proficiency with video recording equipment
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Flexibility to work any shift
- Willingness to cross-train in other areas of news operations as needed
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, and irregular hours as job requires
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50lbs of equipment
- Clean motor vehicle record, ability to drive, proof of insurance
