Job Summary

Photo and Video Engineer III at Aetos Systems, responsible for researching, designing, developing, testing, and overseeing the installation of electrical communication systems at Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, including mission imagery systems (photo and video). Responsibilities include defining configurations for imagery components (Baseband, Infrared, High Speed Digital and IP camera systems, pan/tilt and tracking components, timecode inserters, video encoders/decoders, media converters, video routing, imagery recorders, and displays), collaborating with Cable and Transmission teams to design imaging systems for flight hardware processing facilities and field locations, researching off-the-shelf solutions, configuring products with manufacturers, developing material and labor estimates, ordering materials, coordinating with suppliers, working with Drafting on detailed drawings, developing Acceptance and Functional Test Procedures and Operational Instructions, and overseeing test execution and day-to-day operations. The role is represented by the IBEW union and requires United States citizenship, security/background checks, and drug testing, with work located at Merritt Island, Florida.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science is required, plus 5 years’ experience
  • Master’s Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an engineering program accredited by ABET and three (3) years of Engineering Experience.
  • Required Skills, Qualifications, Technical Experience, Certifications, etc.:
  • Strong understanding of Engineering principles and technologies.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems and computer administration.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen with ability to pass a NASA background investigation.
  • Must be able to pass an initial and random drug testing.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Florida Driver’s License.
