Job Summary

Coordinate the daily workflow of MVH Specimen Control Department and perform phlebotomy/processing duties as needed. Responsibilities include assigning workload to phlebotomists, tracking staff, escalating issues, ensuring proper patient identification and specimen labeling, operating departmental equipment, communicating with internal/external customers, troubleshooting pre-analytical issues, promoting shift-to-shift cooperation, participating in safety/AIDET audits, mentoring staff, stocking collection rooms, loading specimens onto instruments, and float support across sites as needed. Requires a high school diploma, at least 1 year phlebotomy/processing experience, strong customer service skills, dependability, and the ability to meet safety and competency requirements; night shift with 15% differential.

Required Qualifications

  • High school graduate or equivalent
  • minimum 1 year phlebotomy/processing experience
  • phlebotomy experience preferred
  • detail oriented with excellent customer service
  • ability to pass PAPR hood physical
  • ability to walk 5–7 miles per day
  • lift up to 50 lbs
  • exposure to biohazardous substances and chemicals
  • ability to work night shift (11:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
