Job Summary
Instruct students in the full Phlebotomy Technician scope of practice, evaluating and recording their performance throughout 3- to 12-week programs. Prepare learners for a 72-hour class leading to a 40-hour externship in a lab or hospital while modeling professional values and attitudes. Provide professional guidance on blood collection methods including capillary, syringe, vacutainer, and butterfly techniques. Deliver instruction Monday through Thursday from 5:30 pm to 9:30 pm in Salinas, CA.
Required Qualifications
- Current CPT License
- 3 years of documented on-the-job experience in a CLIA lab within the last 5 years
- Proficiency in all aspects of blood collection, including capillary, syringe, vacutainer, and butterfly methods
- Comfort with speaking to large groups
- Comfort with multi-tasking
- Comfort with critical thinking
- Efficiency with computers and technology
- Being organized and detail-oriented
