Job Summary
Perform routine blood collection on neonates, infants, and the elderly under supervision, while processing and receiving specimens and registering patients. Assume daily lead responsibilities by managing patient flow and solving problems in the Preanalytical Laboratory Services area. Requires two years of phlebotomy experience with all age groups, valid AHCA-recognized certification, and a driver's license. Background screening through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse is mandatory.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two (2) years of phlebotomy experience with all age groups
- Phlebotomy certification with a national agency recognized by AHCA
- Ability to follow written/verbal instructions
Desired Qualifications
- Previous experience in patient registration
- One (1) year experience with SMHCS in primary role
- Demonstrated positive customer service and good judgment when in contact with patients, the public, and other staff members
- Ability to demonstrate an amiable personality and a willing and cooperative attitude
- Excellent communication skills and ability to use and understand vocabulary with some knowledge of medical terminology
