Job Summary
Perform routine blood collection on all age groups, including neonates and infants, while demonstrating competency in specimen processing, receiving, and patient registration. Provide care appropriate to the assigned patient age and maintain active Phlebotomy certification with a national agency. Requires a minimum of one year of phlebotomy experience, a High School Diploma or GED, and a valid driver's license. Background screening through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse is mandatory for all individuals providing care to vulnerable populations.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of one (1) year of phlebotomy experience with all age groups
- Phlebotomy certification with a national agency
- Phlebotomy certification must be kept current and active
- High School Diploma, GED or Certificate
- Valid Driver's License
Desired Qualifications
- Demonstrated ability to interact successfully with patients, staff and other healthcare providers
- Demonstrated ability to handle customer service questions and effective communication skills
- Knowledge of all relevant computer skills as needed for patient ID system and specimen processing functions
