Job Summary
Conduct phlebotomy procedures on peripheral veins, Port-A-Caths, and intravenous lines while accurately identifying patients and following safety regulations. Perform POC testing and QC documentation, provide patient instruction for stool and urine collections, and answer questions from patients, physicians, and nursing staff. Assist patients to appropriate locations and train new phlebotomists as required. Maintain positive relationships with clinic personnel and participate in continuous improvement activities. Requires one-year clinical laboratory experience, Phlebotomy Technician training, and ability to stand for eight hours daily.
Required Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage tasks in a timely and effective manner
- Willingness to adapt to a flexible schedule and work environment
- High school diploma or GED
- Completion of a Phlebotomy Technician training program
- 1-year phlebotomy experience in clinical laboratory setting
- Basic computer skills
