Job Summary
Collect venous and capillary blood from newborns through geriatric patients and perform point-of-care testing on diverse age groups. Clean and restock POC supplies, prepare carts, and assist coworkers with draws and testing. Deliver blood work within established time frames, complete clerical functions for POC documents, and log refrigerator temperatures daily. Travel to health fairs and PSA testing sites as needed to perform duties and deliver specimens to the laboratory. Report incidents, supply needs, and equipment defects to supervisors, and identify specific patient population needs to modify care delivery.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year phlebotomy experience, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
- Keyboard/data entry experience
- Flexible and available based on staffing needs, which includes weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime
- Reliable transportation
- Valid driver's license
- Clean driving record, if applicable
- Ability to lift light to moderately heavy objects (1-15 pounds frequently, 16-25 pounds occasionally, 26-40 pounds seldom)
- Ability to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks with dominant hand frequently
- Position requires travel
- Extensive use of phone and PC
