Job Summary
Collect venous and capillary blood from newborns through geriatric patients using proper aseptic techniques, then process all Point of Care Testing documents and deliver specimens to the laboratory. Clean and restock POC supplies, assist coworkers with draws, and complete clerical functions for testing records. Travel to health fair and PSA testing sites as needed, while logging refrigerator temperatures daily and reporting equipment defects or incidents to supervisors. Maintain aseptic collection standards across all patient populations and communicate effectively with patients, parents, and caregivers. Requires one year of phlebotomy experience, valid driver's license, and ability to lift up to 40 pounds.
Required Qualifications
- 1 year phlebotomy experience, inclusive of pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
- Keyboard/data entry experience
- Flexible and available based on staffing needs, which includes weekends, holidays, on-call and overtime
- Must have reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record, if applicable
- Must be able to lift light to moderately heavy objects
- Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks with dominant hand frequently to constantly throughout the day
- Position requires travel
