Job Summary
Collect specimens from patients, verify identification, and label samples accurately. Accession samples into the computer system, review workload reports, and perform point-of-care testing if assigned. Process specimens by identifying, sorting, aliquoting, centrifuging, and labeling them appropriately for transport. Communicate with patients, coordinate collections, and dispatch couriers as needed. Float to multiple client locations and patient service centers. Instruct new employees in procedures and document proficiency. This role supports Prisma Health's mission to transform healthcare for community benefit.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent or post-high school diploma
- Three (3) month phlebotomy certificate program
- PBT(ASCP) - American Society of Clinical Pathology (OR)
- RPT(AMT) - American Medical Technologist (OR)
- CPT(ASPT) - American Society of Phlebotomy Technicians (OR)
- CPT(NHA) - National Health career Association (OR)
- CPT(ACA) - American Certification Agency for Healthcare Professionals (OR)
- CPT(NCCT) - National Center for Competency Testing (OR)
- CPT(NPCE) - National Phlebotomy Certification Examination (OR)
- CPT (NPA) - National Phlebotomy Association (OR)
- CPT (NAPT) - National Association of Phlebotomy Technicians (OR)
- CPT(NHCO) - National Healthcare Certification Organization
Desired Qualifications
