Job Summary
Phlebotomy Tech I collects and receives biological specimens across Hospital Facility, Patient Service Center, In Office Phlebotomy, or Mobile Diagnostic Services, with coverage at multiple locations. Responsibilities include specimen collection, proper entry into the company computer system, preparation of samples for analytical testing, and distribution of specimens to the appropriate analytical area, plus any assigned analytical testing per policy. Must follow the Code of Conduct and comply with regulatory/accreditation requirements and professional standards. Requires completion of a phlebotomy program or phlebotomy experience and phlebotomy certification; DHS fingerprinting may be required. Float/travel to multiple locations with flexibility for weekends, holidays, and overtime. Preferred bilingual (Spanish/English) and knowledge of medical terminology.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent (may be required by state regulations)
- Completion of a phlebotomy program or phlebotomy experience
- Phlebotomy certification as defined by state regulations
- May require DHS Fingerprinting Certification or ability to obtain fingerprint certification
- Valid state driver’s license and auto-insurance eligibility variable by department/location
- Flexibility to cover multiple locations, travel as needed, weekends/holidays/overtime as required
