Job Summary
Phlebotomy Tech collects specimens from patients, verifies patient and specimen identification, labels specimens, inputs data into hospital systems, and may perform Point of Care testing and specimen processing. Responsibilities include organizing tasks, following safety procedures, using PPE, maintaining specimen integrity, and coordinating collections. The role requires ensuring proper storage/retention of specimens, documenting workflows, and communicating with patients, guests, and physician offices. This position operates in the Cancer Centers - Eastside facility, Greenville Memorial Hospital, and related lab services, with a standard Day shift and non-management reporting structure.
Required Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent OR post-high school diploma / highest degree earned
- Three (3) month training in phlebotomy
- Able to uses correct technique, policy, and protocol in collection and process of all specimens.
- Proficient computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, database)
- Data entry skills
- Interpersonal and communication skills
