Job Summary
Phlebotomy Supervisor oversees Laboratory Services team in Potsdam, ensuring daily operations align with department, hospital, and CMS guidelines; manages scheduling, staffing approvals (ETO/PTO), timesheets, and payroll data; facilitates policy updates, quality assurance reporting, and performance counseling; partners with Engineering, Purchasing, and Materials Management to maintain supplies and equipment; conducts interviews for new hires, conducts annual/ probationary performance appraisals, and collaborates with People Resources to uphold standards; requires supervisory experience, NYS driver's license, strong communication, and ability to navigate regulatory and educational requirements within a 37.5-hour work week in a full-time daytime role.
Required Qualifications
- 6 years of relevant experience with progressively more responsibility
- Supervisory or leadership experience required
- Valid New York State driver’s license
- Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree preferred (education section indicates preferred degrees)
- Strong communication skills and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to coordinate with Education Coordinator on competency and DOT training
