Job Summary
Perform skilled venipuncture procedures on diverse patient populations; collect blood samples using various techniques (straight needle, butterfly, etc.); practice thorough patient identification using VA's two-identifier system; respond professionally to patient concerns and questions; handle special collection requirements for specific tests; assist patients with mobility challenges; process and prepare specimens for testing or transport; maintain proper storage conditions for specimens; use VA's electronic health record system for order management and documentation.
Required Qualifications
- Current Phlebotomy Certification
- Current BLS Certification
- 2+ years of clinical phlebotomy experience
- Strong computer skills
- Excellent patient care abilities
