Job Summary
Conduct venipuncture and blood draws in both inpatient and outpatient hospital settings, including difficult sticks for geriatric and oncology patients. Ensure proper patient identification and specimen labeling while maintaining strict HIPAA confidentiality standards. Provide excellent customer service and patient care within a fast-paced environment serving veterans at the Michael E. DeBakey VA Medical Center in Houston. Full-time, part-time, and PRN shifts are available across day, evening, night, weekends, and holidays. This long-term federal contract offers competitive pay ranging from $23 to $27 per hour with potential overtime opportunities.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of recent phlebotomy experience
- Phlebotomy certification
- BLS certification
- Must be reliable and professional
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays
