Job Summary
Phlebotomist responsible for systematic collection of blood and urine specimens for patients and delivery to the appropriate laboratory. Must perform phlebotomy across all age groups, verify patient identity with two identifiers, and adhere to Universal Precautions. Demonstrates a positive attitude, supports colleagues, and contributes to continuous process improvement. Actively participates in Continuing Education, manages inventory and workflow, and reports laboratory compliance issues when identified. Core capabilities include delivering quality service, maintaining safety standards, and applying problem-solving within a team environment. Education and foundational phlebotomy skills are emphasized, with opportunities for growth and professional development within Vanderbilt Health.
