Job Summary
Perform venipuncture and capillary puncture on adults, neonates, and pediatric patients; collect urine specimens; and perform EKGs on adult and pediatric patients. Navigate the laboratory computer system to enter accessioning data, verify patient demographics using two identifiers, and label specimens appropriately. Obtain finger stick collections, instruct patients on urine and stool procedures, and prepare specimens for send-out testing. Travel to multiple draw stations in Mount Kisco, Yorktown Heights, Briarcliff, and Katonah to maintain a pace of over four to six patients per hour. Adhere to infection control practices, maintain proper supply inventory, and troubleshoot LIS issues. Work cooperatively with physicians, nurses, and ancillary staff while attending required meetings and in-service education programs.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma/GED or equivalent
- 1+ years of computer proficiency experience in Microsoft Office and demonstrates solid computer skills
- 6+ months of experience of drawing blood in a hospital, doctor's office or clinic
- Available to work rotating Saturdays
- Access to reliable transportation and valid US driver's license with the ability to travel to other draw stations (Mount Kisco, Yorktown Heights, Briarcliff, and Katonah)

Desired Qualifications
- Phlebotomy certified
- 1 + years of phlebotomy experience (Additional appropriate education may be substituted for the minimum experience requirement)
- Previous laboratory experience
- EKG experience
- Pediatrics Phlebotomy experience
