Job Summary
Greet donors entering and exiting the donor floor, perform venipuncture, and program plasmapheresis machines while monitoring donors for reactions. Install, prime, and disconnect disposable sets, stock supplies, and manage proper disposal. Record vital signs including pulse, blood pressure, and temperature, perform finger sticks for hematocrit and protein tests, and enter donor data into the Donor Information System. Coordinate donors to the floor, compensate donors using the Debit Card system, and support center management in identifying operational improvements through 5S and Value Stream Mapping. This part-time role involves shifts of 4 to 6 hours, 3+ days per week, with flexibility on both sides for scheduling.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to walk and/or stand for the entire work shift
- Will work evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Ability to lean, bend, stoop, crouch, and reach above shoulders and below knees
- Ability to lift to 5 lbs., and occasional lifting of materials up to 32 lbs. and rarely 50 lbs.
- Fine motor coordination, depth perception, and ability to hear equipment from a distance
- Because of potential exposure to bloodborne pathogens (risk level 1), 90% of work tasks require prolonged glove wear
Desired Qualifications
- 1 or more years minimum experience working in a customer or patient facing role is helpful
